Drs. Tom and Stephanie Chaney attended and presented original research at the biggest event in the history of chiropractic in Latin America. There were over 900 delegates that attended the World Federation of Chiropractic’s (WFC’s) 11th Biennial Congress, hosted by the Brazilian Chiropractors’ Association (ABQ) and held in Rio de Janeiro, April 6-9, 2011.
The World Federation of Chiropractic (WFC) has national associations of chiropractors in 85 countries as its voting members, and represents them and the chiropractic profession internationally. Many individuals and organizations support its work as associate members. The WFC has been a non-governmental organization or NGO in official relations with the World Health Organization (WHO) since 1997, and collaborates with many federations representing other healthcare professions.
Drs. Chaney presented research titled, Functional Medicine and Chiropractic: A Case Series in Type II Diabetes Mellitus Reversal. The research highlighted the results of Drs. Chaney’s diabetes reversal program. The 4 patients in the study reversed their diabetes and no longer needed medication for their disease, while maintaining normal HbA1c levels. The patients in the study lost an average of 39 pounds. One patient went from a HbA1c of 8.0% taking 90 units of insulin, to an HbA1c of 5.9% not taking any insulin.
