What can I expect during my first visit?

  • X-rays may be taken as part of your initial examination, which will help us fully assess your current condition.
  • If necessary, additional diagnostic tests, such as lab work, CT scans and MRIs may be performed.
  • You will watch videos and be given educational material to give you a thorough understanding of Chiropractic care.
  • A follow-up appointment will be scheduled so that that the doctor can review his/her findings with you and to discuss the care options and expected results.   You will receive a written plan of care which will outline the type of treatment and the duration. You will be provided a clear understanding of our fees.
  • If the doctor does not feel that chiropractic care will be of help to you he/she will refer you to another health care provider for conditions which are not appropriate for chiropractic care
  • You will always receive appropriate, ethical care delivered in confidence, with respect for privacy and dignity.

Do I have to see my medical doctor before I see a chiropractor?

No. Doctors of Chiropractic are primary health care providers.  Patients can come to us directly for care, without being referred by any other physician. Chiropractic doctors frequently work in conjunction with other doctors and medical professionals as needed by the patient.

I’m pregnant is it safe for me to see a Chiropractor?

Chiropractic care is both gentle and safe during pregnancy and can provide relief to the muscle and back strains of pregnancy.  Chiropractic care for pain relief during pregnancy is a great alternative because it is a drug-free and natural care method; particularly for the low back pain frequently experienced during pregnancy.
